Ad Astra | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Wenlei Ma News.com.au Brad Pitt is nothing short of phenomenal in this remarkable, poignant and visually arresting film from James Gray. Rated: 4.5/5 Oct 19, 2019 Full Review Ad Astra | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Esther Zuckerman Thrillist There's larger social commentary here, but the root of the drama is about a man learning to embrace the emotions he's kept buried for years. Sep 30, 2019 Full Review Ad Astra | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Scott Marks San Diego Reader For most of its running time, Ad Astra amounts to a rather somber and sterile two-hour orbit. Rated: 2/5 Sep 27, 2019 Full Review Ad Astra | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Serena Seghedoni Loud and Clear Reviews Brad Pitt's journey to Neptune is intentionally emotionless in James Gray's Ad Astra, a stunning tale of identity, self-discovery and rebirth. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 30, 2023 Full Review Ad Astra | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Manuel São Bento MSB Reviews With a subtle yet powerful performance, Brad Pitt carries the whole story to safe harbor with tremendous help from the eyegasmic visuals. Very well-shot, well-edited, with an immersive score, and gorgeous cinematography. Rated: B+ Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Ad Astra | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Jeffrey Harris 411mania Ad Astra showcases the struggle of looking into the abyss and explores how Roy’s father succumbed to it, and if Roy will suffer that same fate. This is where Ad Astra finds its strength. Rated: 7/10 Aug 22, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

JB Fresh concept and visuals were on point. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/05/22 Full Review HK1213 Interesting space movie depicting people's inner dilemma. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/08/22 Full Review Audience Member If I could sum up this film in a sentence: A visually appealing snooze fest. I believe his film suffered greatly from the Disney/Fox merger and a bad case of marketing. The trailers and footage from this film made it seem like another Interstellar (one of my favorite films of the decade), when in reality it was more like The Martian, with no humor and lots more daddy issues. On top of that, all of the most gorgeous and stunning shots were put into the trailer with nothing left for when I sat down in the theater. Brad Pitt is solid as always but the voiceover was too much. "Show don't tell," is an apt analysis here. We know what themes you are trying to convey Mr. Gray. Please don't beat us over the head with it. Also, phenomenal actress like Ruth Negga and Liv Tyler Are wasted on a few lines each. Back to the marketing, trailers made it seem like an ensemble piece with significant roles for these two. However, they merely blipped on and off the screen as a foil for Brad and his daddy issues. Sigh. Does it sound like I'm tired of this film? I'm tired of this film. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Karen Very boring movie. Mostly Brad Pitt talking in monotone voice for 2 hours. None of the characters have personality with one exception, the character played by Natasha Lyonne. (She has a short, minor scene.) Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/13/19 Full Review Dustin T Horrible! Slow to action. Poor plot. Daddy abandonment movie. Not worth watching for free. Certainly not worth paying for. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/19 Full Review Sean This should have been a good movie, but it wasn't.It had all the right pieces, but they were split apart and put together in a confusing and SLOW jumble. They could have cut 30-40 minutes off the run time without the many, many pauses while Pitt slowly expounds on things. The scenery was great and a human presence in the outer solar system was well-imagined. There are scientific errors galore, but if I want a science lesson I'll listen to Neil DeGrasse Tyson.Donald Sutherland gave the best performance, with Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones tied. Not enough Jones, though. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/20/19 Full Review Read all reviews
