There are 21 different Greatswords scattered throughout the Lands Between, this Elden Ring Greatsword catalog will show you all of them, their stats and descriptions, and the exact location where you can find them!

The Guide is up-to-date for Patch 1.10

Greatswords are large swords that hit deal more damage per hit, are more likely to break enemy guards, and have longer ranges than lighter weapons, but possess a slower swing speed and often have higher stat requirements than lighter weapons. That said, they aren’t the heaviest or most demanding weapons in the game either.

Consider using a greatsword if you want something a bit meatier than a Straight Sword but don’t want something quite as cumbersome as one of the Colossals.

Greatswords Full Catalog

Below you can find the complete list of all Greatswords available in Elden Ring, with full item descriptions stats, the exact location where you can find them and how to get them. Click on an image to get to the section about the items.

Bastard Sword

The Bastard Sword can be purchased from the merchant on the main path to Castle Morne on the Weeping Peninsula in exchange for 3,000 Runes.

Claymore

The Claymore can be looted off a chest in the armory at Castle Morne on the Weeping Peninsula in southern Limgrave.

Iron Greatsword

The Iron Greatsword has a chance to drop from defeating the non-boss versions of the Leonine Misbegotten and Misbegotten Crusader.

There are a couple of them at each of Lyndell, Royal Capital near all the other Misbegotten enemies on the way to the Forbidden Lands. You can also find a couple in Haligtree Town at Miquella’s Haligtree.

Lordsworn’s Greatsword

The Lordsworn’s Greatsword can be looted from a chest in a parked caravan right next to the Lost Grace at the Gatefront Ruins in Limgrave.

Knight’s Greatsword

The Knight’s Greatsword has a chance to drop from enemies that wield them, mostly the knight enemies that can be found throughout the Lands Between.

The knights are the strongest of the generic soldier enemies and depict their allegiance, like the Godfrey, Cuckoo, Redmane, etc., with color and details of their full plate armor.

Banished Knight’s Greatsword

The Banished Knight’s Greatsword has a chance to drop from the Banished Knights that wield them throughout the Lands Between. Banished Knights can be found most commonly at Stormveil Castle and Crumbling Farum Azula.

Forked Greatsword

The Forked Greatsword has a chance to drop from the gargoyle imps that wield them. Imps can most commonly be found in Catacombs and Heroes’ Graves throughout the Lands Between.

The ones that wield Forked Greatswords are less common and tend to be hiding behind corners to ambush you while you’re focused on something else.

Flamberge

The Flamberge can be looted from a chest at Redmane Castle in southeast Caelid. This sword causes blood loss innately.

Gargoyle’s Greatsword

The Gargoyle’s Greatsword drops from defeating the Valiant Gargoyle boss fight at Siofra Aqueduct (near Nokron) along with the Gargoyle’s Twinblade.

Gargoyle’s Blackblade

The Gargoyle’s Blackblade drops from defeating the Black Blade Kindred gargoyle boss that’s guarding the Bestial Sanctum that houses Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman, at the northeast edge of Caelid.

The Black Blade Kindred also drops the Gargoyle’s Black Halberd. The Gargoyle’s Blackblade is similar to the Gargoyle’s Greatsword except it also scales with Faith half of its damage dealt is Holy instead of just physical.

Inseparable Sword

The Inseparable Sword drops from D, Hunter of Death, as well as his twin brother D, Beholder of Death. This sword and the Twinned armor set are part of D and Fia’s questline.

When D, Hunter of Death, dies, you can keep the set or give to D, Beholder of Death, at Siofra Aqueduct (near Nokron) and it will be returned to you at the end of their questline after reloading the area after picking up the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince.

Sword of Milos

The Sword of Milos drops from defeating the LOATHSOME DUNG EATER just outside of Lyndell Royal Capital. It has the rare effect of restoring FP whenever you defeat an enemy, allowing you to use Ashes of War more often or otherwise allocate less stat to Mind.

Marais Executioner’s Sword

The Marais Executioner Sword drops from defeating the Elemer of the Briar, the boss of the Shaded Castle at the northern edge of the Altus Plateau.

Ordovis’s Greatsword

Ordovis’s Greatsword drops from defeating Crucible Knight Ordovis, the boss at Azuria Hero’s Grave on the eastern edge of the Altus Plateau betwixt the Forbidden Lands and Lyndell, Royal Capital.

Alabaster Lord’s Sword

The Alabaster Lord’s Sword drops from defeating Alabaster Lords found throughout the Lands Between so long as they don’t drop something specific. Alabaster Lords are tall goblin-looking creatures that spawn from purple gravity anomalies.

Death’s Poker

Death’s Poker drops from defeating the Death Rite Bird that spawns at night southeast of the Swamp of Aeonia in Caelid. This weapon is a fantastic choice for a Necromancer build.

Helphen’s Steeple

Helphen’s Steeple drops from defeating the Tibia Mariner that’s summoning the large skelly bois from the Home Depot on the eastern side of the Mountaintops of the Giants near Castle Sol.

This Greatsword is also a decent option for a Necromancer build, though its stat requirements are a bit high for your first playthrough.

Blasphemous Blade

The Blasphemous Blade can be purchased from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold in exchange for the Remembrance of the Blasphemous.

This blade pairs well with other effects that steal HP like Rykard’s Great Rune and Taker’s Cameo Talisman.

Golden Order Greatsword

The Golden Order Greatsword drops from defeating the Misbegotten Crusader boss at the end of the Cave of the Forlorn in the western region of the Mountaintops of the Giants (Haligtree side).

Dark Moon Greatsword

The Dark Moon Greatsword is Elden Ring’s equivalent of the Moonlight Greatsword. It’s given to you by Lady Ranni at the end of her quest beneath the Cathedral of Manus Celes.

Sacred Relic Sword

The Sacred Relic Sword can be purchased from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold in exchange for the Elden Remembrance.

Its stat requirements are a bit high for a Faith caster build, but it’s a great weapon to try out in NG+ since you won’t get it until the very end of your first playthrough and can afford to spend more attribute points on Dexterity and Strength.

Farming Tips

If you come across a sword wielded by an enemy and you want to have it too, you’ll have to take down that enemy over and over again until you get the item to drop. There are a few things you can do to make the process more efficient.

A big part of speeding up the process is increasing your Discovery stat, which governs the chance that enemies will drop something upon being defeated. Discovery can be increased directly, but it is also increased with your Arcane stat. 1 point of Arcane gives you 1 point of Discovery, so most of your benefits will come from things that boost Discovery directly.
